Data encryption in cloud

Security and data encryption are directly related to one another. Individuals can make use of cloud storage platforms to store their valuable data and earlier it was totally about physical data storage devices such as hard disks, CDs, pen drives, etc. and all of these devices were able to satisfy the data storage needs but they were not able to protect the files and data possessed. Physical storage devices were prone to physical damages or malware or virus etc. and all of these would cause damage or loss of data to the users. Then came cloud storage which provided the necessary security and anonymity. Many individuals started using a cloud storage service to store and protect their data and the main reason for this particular shift is the protection that cloud offers.

Data encryption

Cloud storage service started implementing data encryption to store all the data provided by the users. Data encryption ensured that the files are safe no matter what the type of threat is. Files uploaded by the users to the cloud storage service would be encrypted by the cloud. Files that are encrypted can be protected from all forms of online threats and risks. Risks come in the form of hackers, phishers, snoopers, virus, malware, etc. and all these can cause a major damage to the files possessed by the individual. Data encryption protects the files possessed by the individual.

Data encryption implemented by cloud storage servers is of two different types, one is the 128-bit encryption and the other is 256-bit encryption. Both these types of encryption protocols provide enough security and anonymity to the subscriber. A 256-bit AES encrypted internet network provides enough security and anonymity to the subscriber. All the different cloud storage companies provide a user interface for their subscribers to store their data on to the cloud and also perform the necessary file management. Users can store their data on to a secured encrypted network since data encrypted internet network is operated by the cloud for all the data storage needs of the subscriber.

Encrypted storage servers

Similar to the user interface network which is encrypted by the cloud storage provider even the storage server operated by the subscriber is also encrypted. An encrypted data storage server would add another layer of protection to the data possessed by the subscriber. Cloud storage service providers operate servers in multiple locations and these servers provide necessary protection to the data provided by the users. All the files would be encrypted and stored in the storage farm of the company. Virus attacks, malware, phishing, hacking, etc. would have zero impact on the files stored at the storage unit.

Multiple storage servers

Data provided by the users or companies would be stored in the storage farms operated by the cloud storage service provider. Many top cloud storage service providers operate storage farms in multiple locations purely for enhancing the storage solutions offered by them. The presence of multiple storage servers means that users’ data would be stored in multiple locations and this enables double safety. Users need not worry about losing their valuable files and data to someone else.

Likewise, multiple storage servers also enhance the data access speed for the subscriber. The file they are looking for from the long list of stored documents can be easily identified by the subscriber. The server that is located closer to the user would provide all the details to the user and this reduces time lag. Subscribers who want to surf their data in a quick pace should choose a cloud storage provider that operates multiple storage servers.

Data encryption in cloud provides maximum security and anonymity. No other storage solution offers this kind of security, which is why many individuals and businesses choose this option. If you are looking for a safe storage option then look no further than cloud storage.
